Marietta Band Boosters are holding a fundraiser Friday August 15. If you go to Qdoba from 5p.m. until close then 25 percent of your sale will go directly to Marietta's Band program. Go get some good food and support these kids!

Here is the staggered start schedule for the 2025-2026 School year for 7th Grade ONLY:

- Last name A-K will report on Thursday, August 21st. These students will NOT report on Friday, August 22nd.

- Last name L-Z will report on Friday, August 22nd. These students will NOT report on Thursday, August 21st.

All students will receive a document at orientation stating which day they are to attend, or not attend, due to the staggered start. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out.

Tomorrow, August 7, the, Washington County Back to School Bash will be held from 4-7 p.m.. Families across the county will be able to visit the Washington County Junior Fair Building for local resources, programs and support that include but aren't limited to:

-Immunizations for 7-12th graders
-Haircuts (as time allows)
-School supplies
-Activities for kids
-Smoke detectors and fire safety
-So much more!

Remember this is open to families across all of Washington County so spread the word!

Anyone interested in the choir program at Marietta High School, be sure to keep Monday August 18, from 6:30-7 p.m. free. You will be able to discuss all things MHS Choir, learn what the musical this year will be, see vocal point perform and ask any questions you may have. Help support Lady Tigers Golf this week by grabbing a bit to eat at Applebee's on Wednesday July 30. Please mention or show them this fundraiser at any point on that day to secure a %25 donation from the total cost of your order.

Help support the Marietta Marquettes by participating in their raffle which is valued at over $600. Tickets are $10 each and the drawing will be held on August 22, 2025. Please help spread the word!

The Boys and Girls Club of Washington County is providing free hot lunches between the ages of 5-18 years old all summer long. From June 9-August 15, kids can stop between 11:30 and 12 p.m. at 307 Lancaster Street in Suite I in Marietta. What a wonderful service provided to the community. Attention incoming 7th and 8th grade girls interested in JH Basketball, there will be an open gym at the MES Gymnasium June 18th at 6 p.m. If you have questions, please feel free to contact Coach Cox at 740-464-8809.

Tigers under the age of 18 looking to play golf at a wide range of courses around the area, mark your calendar for the Tiger Junior Golf Tour. Dates and courses are listed below. July 6: Lakeside, 2 p.m. July 11: Oxbow, 2:30 p.m. July 16: Golf Club of WV, 8 a.m. July 22: Marietta Country Club, 8 a.m. Registration deadline is July 4 and there will be a pizza party and awards after the final round of golf. Safety Town signups are open and you need to reserve your child's spot asap. Safety town will take place June 16-26 at Phillips Elementary School and there will be a 9a.m.-12 p.m. session and a 1-4 p.m. Students who are entering Kindergarten or those that did not attend last year but will be entering first grade are eligible to attend. The Daddy Daughter dance will be a fun opportunity for dads and daughters of all ages on May 23 from 7-9 p.m. in the MHS Cafeteria. Dress for this event will be semi formal (nice dress). Tickets are $15 per dad and daughter with $5 additional per daughter up to a max of $25. Tickets can be purchased at the Athletic Department website or at the door. Proceeds from this event will go towards paying for the Marietta Marquettes trip to Nationals.

The Miss Ohio & Miss Ohio Teen Volunteer 2025 Pageant is looking for participants for the 2025 state pageant. We are currently seeking contestants to compete for this exciting opportunity to build confidence, showcase talent, grow interview skills, and represent not only the Miss Ohio Volunteer Organization, but also St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and the Salvation Army, both national partners of the Miss Volunteer America organization. To qualify to compete as a Teen contestant for Miss Ohio Teen Volunteer, you must be between the ages of 13 and 18. If you register to compete BEFORE your 19th birthday, you can also compete as a Teen, even though you may be 19 on pageant day. To qualify to compete as a Miss contestant for Miss Ohio Volunteer, you must be between the ages of 19 and 26, or register before your 27th birthday. The winners in addition to receiving state scholarships, will represent Ohio on the National stage, where they can earn a $10,000 scholarship (Miss Teen Volunteer America), or a $50,000 scholarship (Miss Volunteer America).
