It's the final weekend of summer! Just a reminder that our first and second grade open house will be next Wednesday, August 20 from 5-6:30 p.m.

Our Kindergarten Open House will be the following week on August 27, from 5-6:30 p.m.

We are looking forward to starting a new year and seeing you all next week!

Tomorrow, August 7, the, Washington County Back to School Bash will be held from 4-7 p.m.. Families across the county will be able to visit the Washington County Junior Fair Building for local resources, programs and support that include but aren't limited to:

-Immunizations for 7-12th graders
-Haircuts (as time allows)
-School supplies
-Activities for kids
-Smoke detectors and fire safety
-So much more!

Remember this is open to families across all of Washington County so spread the word!

It's almost August and that means we have some important dates coming up to get you prepared for another incredible school year! Don't forget to save the relevant dates for your student and we can't wait to see you at these events!

The Boys and Girls Club of Washington County is providing free hot lunches between the ages of 5-18 years old all summer long. From June 9-August 15, kids can stop between 11:30 and 12 p.m. at 307 Lancaster Street in Suite I in Marietta. What a wonderful service provided to the community. Tigers under the age of 18 looking to play golf at a wide range of courses around the area, mark your calendar for the Tiger Junior Golf Tour. Dates and courses are listed below. July 6: Lakeside, 2 p.m. July 11: Oxbow, 2:30 p.m. July 16: Golf Club of WV, 8 a.m. July 22: Marietta Country Club, 8 a.m. Registration deadline is July 4 and there will be a pizza party and awards after the final round of golf. Safety Town signups are open and you need to reserve your child's spot asap. Safety town will take place June 16-26 at Phillips Elementary School and there will be a 9a.m.-12 p.m. session and a 1-4 p.m. Students who are entering Kindergarten or those that did not attend last year but will be entering first grade are eligible to attend. Can you believe the end of the year is almost here? Our final Coffee with care of the year will be May 9, from 8:45-9:30 a.m. in the Phillips Elementary Library. Our topic this month will be Anxiety and an End of the Year Wrap Up. We hope you will choose to join us for some excellent conversation, pastries and coffee. 🍩☕

Please join us Thursday from 5-9pm, for a Texas Roadhouse fundraiser to support Phillips! Feel free to use coupons you may have received. Phillips gets 10% of the subtotal, even if coupons are used! We appreciate your support!

The Daddy Daughter dance will be a fun opportunity for dads and daughters of all ages on May 23 from 7-9 p.m. in the MHS Cafeteria. Dress for this event will be semi formal (nice dress). Tickets are $15 per dad and daughter with $5 additional per daughter up to a max of $25. Tickets can be purchased at the Athletic Department website or at the door. Proceeds from this event will go towards paying for the Marietta Marquettes trip to Nationals.

One week from today on the Armory Lawn a group of students from the Washington County Career Center will be holding an event "Sowing the Seeds of Literacy" focused on promoting the importance of reading to young children. The event, which will be held on May 2, from 5-9 p.m., is a collaboration between Building Bridges 2 Careers and of students who call themselves "Students Solving Problems". At the event, SSP members will be reading selected story books including: "Wally Takes a Weather Walk" by Bree Sunshine Smith "The Little Butterfly That Could" by Ross Burach "I Can Save the Earth!" By Alison Inches "How the Crayons Saved the Rainbow" by Monica Sweeney "Rain, Snow or Shine: A Book About the Weather" by June & Lucy Kids and "We Are All Connected: Caring For Each Other & The Earth" by Gabi Garcia There will be free books on hand for kids and snacks as well. This is an absolutely wonderful opportunity to get your children even more involved with reading outside of school hours, we hope you will take full advantage.

Don't miss out on your chance to support the students of MCSD and take home a piece of original artwork. Find the table selling student artwork on April 30 during the 25th Annual Fine Arts Festival. There are over 100 pieces of artwork at great prices, we hope you will find something you love!

It's almost time for the 25th Annual Marietta City School District Fine Arts Festival! On Wednesday, April 30 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the Marietta High School Gym and Auditorium, creativity will come alive from the minds and talents of the students of MCSD! This completely free and open event will feature various art mediums and musical performances from students at all levels of the district. We hope that you will mark your calendars and join us in supporting the arts and these young Tigers!

The Party in the Park for Prevention will be held Saturday April 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the East Muskingum Park in Marietta, Oh. It will be a fun time for the entire family with food trucks, bouncy houses, craft tables, yard games, a live dj, farm petting zoo and so much more!

There is still time for you to win this incredible OSU Basket and help us raise money during this Phillips Fundraiser! We would LOVE to have more of you join us for our Coffee with Care this month which will be held this Friday, April 11 at 8:45-9:30 a.m. in the Washington Library. This months topic will be Mindfulness and as always we will have coffee and pastries for guests. We hope to see you there!

For interested families, Marietta College's Education Department Is hosting a Bingo Night at The Gathering Place from 5:15 to 7 p.m. tonight. The price is $1 per Bingo Board and there will be fun prizes for the entire family.

On March 27 bring $1 to help support our upcoming "Wild About Reading" literacy day. If you bring your donation you may dress up as your favorite animal, wear animal print clothing, or bring a small stuffed animal that will fit in your backpack on Thursday (this dress up day will be Thursday 3/27). We can't wait to see all of the animals filling the hall at the end of this week!
