
Marietta City School District welcomes motivational guest speaker and former WNBA player, Rushia Brown, who will present a session for Phillips School, Washington School, Marietta Elementary School, and Marietta High School. Brown will also do a session with the public from 7:00 p.m. until 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, February 6th, in the TMI Center located in the high school. All are welcome to the Tuesday evening session!

Building Bridges to Careers is hosting a "Discover Banking Day" at People's Bank on Friday, March 1st
There are six (6) openings available for MHS students.
As the upper class students, you will be given priority consideration until February 16th.
If any vacancies remain after February 16th, we will open this opportunity to the Sophomores and Freshman as well.

Unfortunately the opponent for our Wrestling Dual tonight has canceled. Next up for the team will be the TSL Championships @ Warren on 2/7.


Any of our Tiger youth looking to learn the fundamentals of the game of golf we have a fantastic opportunity that will be held on February 18, 25 and March 3rd. The Tiger Indoor Golf Clinic is for girls and boys in the 5th and 6th grade and will focus on teaching things like: grip, full swing, putting, stance, short game and more. Literacy Day at Marietta Elementary School will take place on February 15th. Since this date is our parent teacher conference early release day, we will be holding activities from 2-7 p.m. in the cafeteria for families to enjoy at their leisure.
We are so excited to have two amazing children's literature authors join us for the day. Marietta City School District will be providing each student a book for free. Third and fourth grade will receive one of Jared's books while fifth and sixth grade will be given one of Dustin's books. Both authors will be on hand to sign their books and for more in-depth discussion. There will also be snacks and games for families to enjoy!
In addition to the evening portion Dustin Brady will also be speaking to students during the school day. You can learn more about the authors on the picture below.


Our first youth night as a blast, so lets try it again this time with Boys Basketball taking on Meigs. Friday February 2 Marietta Tigers youth will have free admittance when wearing their jersey, shirt or other Tiger gear. Junior varsity will start at 6 p.m., with the varsity taking the court at 7:30 p.m.

Just a reminder that the Full-Tuition Scholarship to Ohio University has some deadlines coming up quickly. As a reminder, this is available to all Washington County seniors who are Pell-Eligible (Pell Eligibility is outlined on the website.) Applications to OU must be submitted by Feb. 1, along with a transcript indicating that you have earned at least a 3.0. The FAFSA must be submitted by Feb. 15, 2024. Confirm your intent to enroll at Ohio University by May 1, 2024.

Attention, coaches, athletes and fans! Parking for Fridays game against Warren will be very limited. To ensure our handicap parking is used as such, we ask all fans that are able-bodied to park on the Colegate side of Marietta High School and then walk through MHS to our gymnasium on Friday! The Washington State Community College Upward Bound College Prep Academy is offering the potential for eligible students to receive a free educational trip to New York City July 15-18 this summer. In addition to this trip, joining Upward Bound will provide access to college prep, life skills prep, tutoring and academic support, ACT prep, a six week summer camp and other field trip opportunities.

Mark your calendars for MCS Youth Sports Nights! The girls basketball team will be having a youth sports night on January 18 with the JV game starting at 6 and the Varsity game at 7:30 p.m.
Boys Basketball will be held on February 2, with the JV game starting at 6 and the Varsity game starting at 7:30 p.m.
Both of these events will offer FREE admittance to our Tiger youth if they wear a Marietta Tiger Jersey or shirt.


Just wanted to post an update that our calendar at the bottom of our website was showing January 16 as a Professional Development day. That was incorrect and has been fixed to the correct date. There will be a professional development day on February 16, but January 16 will just be a normal day for students and faculty. We apologize for any confusion.

This is a wonderful opportunity for any students interested in pursing a career in the Healthcare fields of Clinicals, Lab, Nursing, Surgery, Radiology or Respiratory. From 9 a.m. until 2p.m. at Washington State Community College students will be able to learn about these healthcare pathways and also receive tips on how to obtain a career in these fields locally.
